    Stuck in endless, tedious legal proceedings? When it all seemed so easy? And now you have been asked for a certified, sworn translation of your marriage or birth certificate, police records, diploma or driving licence. What even is that?

    Leave it with us. A sworn translation in Spain is made by a translator authorised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC), and carries their stamp, signature and a certificate of accuracy. That is what makes it an official document rather than just an accurate one — and it is why an ordinary translation, however good, gets rejected at the counter.

    What makes a translation "sworn" in Spain?
    It is produced by a traductor jurado appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC). The translator signs and stamps every page and attaches a certification of accuracy. Spanish authorities, courts, universities and consulates accept that document; they will not accept an uncertified translation, however good it is.
    Is a sworn translation from Spain valid outside Spain?
    Usually, yes — a MAEC sworn translation is widely accepted abroad, and it is what Spanish consulates issue and expect. Some countries want the translation done by one of their own certified translators instead. Tell us which country the document is going to and we will confirm before you commit.
    Do I need an apostille as well?
    Sometimes, and the order matters: the apostille goes on the original document first, then the whole thing is translated. The sworn translation itself does not need its own apostille. If you are not sure whether your document needs one, send it to us and we will tell you.
    How do I send my documents?
    A clear photo taken with your phone is enough — you do not need a scanner. Drag the files onto the quote form, or send them to us on WhatsApp. We accept PDF, Word, JPG, PNG and HEIC, and we never compress them, so stamps and handwriting stay legible.
    Will I get a paper copy?
    You always receive a digitally signed PDF, which most Spanish authorities now accept. If the office you are dealing with wants paper with an original stamp, we post it — just tell us when you request the quote and we will include it in the price.
    How quickly will I get my translation?
    You receive your quote within 24 hours. Once you approve it and payment is confirmed, most standard certificates are delivered within 24 to 48 hours. If you have a deadline, tell us the date and we will confirm before you commit.
    How much does a sworn translation cost?
    It depends on the document, the language pair and how quickly you need it, so we quote each job individually rather than publishing a price that would be wrong for most people. Send us a photo and you will have a fixed price — with no obligation.
    Are my documents safe?
    Yes. Uploads are encrypted, they are seen only by the translator assigned to your job, and they are permanently deleted 30 days after your translation is delivered. We never share them with anyone else.
