    The part that is not just translation

    Moving a qualification across a border is mostly paperwork about paperwork: Germany calls the process Anerkennung, Spain calls it homologación, and every recognition office, professional chamber and university has its own list of what it wants to see. What they nearly all agree on is that the translation must be certified — and that a qualification they cannot read does not count.

    The genuinely tricky part is the grades. A 2:1, a 1,3, a 9,2 and a summa cum laude are not the same thing wearing different clothes — each belongs to its own scale, and "converting" them is not the translator’s job. We render your grades faithfully and state the scale they sit on, so the recognition office can do its own assessment from accurate information. A translator who converts your grades for you is doing you no favour: recognition offices notice, and it undermines the document.

    Degree titles get the same care. Some have an established equivalent; many are best left in the original with a precise description alongside. We choose deliberately, title by title, because your qualification’s name is not a place for improvisation.

    Do I need a certified or a sworn translation of my degree?
    It depends on the country and the office asking. Recognition authorities and universities usually require certification; in some countries that specifically means a sworn translator. Tell us where the documents are going and we will confirm the right form before you commit.
    Will you convert my grades to the local system?
    No — and be wary of anyone who offers to. Grades are translated faithfully with their original scale stated, because equivalence is the recognition office’s decision, not the translator’s. What we make sure of is that the office has accurate, complete information to decide from.
    Should my degree title be translated or left in the original?
    It depends on the title. Some have an established equivalent in the target language; many are better left in the original with a precise description alongside, which is also what recognition offices tend to prefer. We decide title by title and tell you what we did.
    Do you translate the whole transcript, or can I send selected pages?
    Whatever the receiving office asked for. Some want every page, some only the final results. If you are not sure, send us their request and we will read it with you.
    Do I get a paper copy?
    Yes, if you need one — a certified digital copy comes by email, and a stamped paper copy follows by post where the office requires the original certification.
    How much does it cost?
